So true. I played in a band back in the '80s -- two guitarists, bass and drums (no horns). Two of the tunes we played, where us guitarists had to cover the horn parts, were "I Feel Good" and "Pappa's Got a Brand New Bag." They would typically get the best crowd reaction out of all the tunes we played. Best, Michael |

Up until 1969 (when I got drafted) I played in a big band - Organ, guitar, bass, drums, and 5 horns. We played almost all of the songs that James Brown ever recorded. He had a knack for creating a groove that was almost hypnotic. We were really good, but he was the real deal. Al |
